Namaskaram everyone! So finally after working virtually with Nunkima for past 6 years, he is coming to our Piso head quarters in Goa. It has been a very long journey of patience, consistency and hard work. Its a dream come true, our crew has come together and will work as a team towards our new plans and visions which Piso has been working on for the past year.
So the following is a text message I put back somewhere around in 2015 to Nunkima via Facebook, that's the way we both got connected. Back then things were not like the way they are now. Getting a board was also a big thing, at times we had to wait for someone to come from USA so that we could get access to a proper skateboard. There was no Piso back then, just a few handful of skaters and Holystoked collective guys.
Me and Kima have been skate buddies way before Piso was formed. We always used to chat about the condition of skateboarding in India. There were not much easily accessible and beginner skateparks in India back then except the one in Play Arena (Bangalore) and a few mini bowls in Goa. Thanks to skatepark builders like 100 Ramps/Bombay SB/ Skateable spaces, now we have so many skateparks all around the country.
Kima started Collaborating in small projects with Piso somewhere around 2019 as far as I can remember. Since then it was always the dream that someday we will be working together in Goa like a proper skate crew. Well it took 6 years for this to happen. Lots of Ups & Downs happened in these 6 years. Right from setting up business, Covid, sustainability of Piso etc etc.
Finally today (30th April 2024) is the day, where we finally took a call to get our homie to Goa :). Various projects which Piso has been working for almost a year now has started taking shape. It was time we get our team together and really start working as a team towards our new broader vision.
Today full team of Piso is in Goa - Me, Andy, Veli and Kima. The feeling of working together is so magical. Its been a tough call & to sustain all of us through skateboarding is an uphill task. We are only able to sustain through because we have become more of a family and there is some huge grace showering upon us from the universe :). I always tell my boys, this may not last forever. But always do remember today we are getting to work together as a team, we are able to enjoy our work together. Always be grateful for every single day as all this can end and will end someday(including your life, haha!). Survival, we will figure something out, but do not miss out the experience of life running behind survival. Be grateful for the opportunity which we are gifted today.
So new Piso is on its way! lets make this happen boys. Lets create a better world for everyone :). Yo Kima if you are reading this, welcome home G. Lets live well for whatever this life has to offer and have fun :).
