SAUCE SKATE MAGAZINE INDIA LAUNCHED

Hellooo everyone! So the India’s first ever skateboarding Magazine got finally launched in Goa on 13^th of January 2023. Cheers to the one and only OG skater Manish Sidhu (Founder of Sauce Skate Mag) hailing from Delhi to make this magazine a reality, ‘SAUCE SKATE MAGAZINE’. We are feeling superr proud to support such an historical event in skateboarding in India. The energy and vibe of the event was just wow. Again this would not have been possible without our home team SKATELIFEGOA who helped in organizing the whole Gig.

We got a few minutes to chat with Manish, this is what he has to say:
-Why magazine? Story behind it?
There's just too many videos and photos and skate parts and films on Skateboarding somehow and it's starting to lose the real essence of it. I want Skateboarders to take a moment and relax and open this magazine and be there for a moment and know what's happening in the skate’s scene across the country. If you travelling to Mumbai, maybe get to know the spots to skate there apart from the parks. If you know and have been thinking about where is Tony? You will know that. If you don't have a park or a spot to skate, this magazine will teach you how to build a Quarter pipe and if you pinkie promise to build, we will send you a 5kg cement bag too bro, we got you. You are above 30 and feeling restrictions in movement during skating, we got the stretching exercises for you. Did you know last year Indian Skateboarders witnessed it's one of a kind the first Girls and Queer Skate Workshop? I bet there are a lot of people who don't know the origins of holystoked and how beautiful and how much of hard work was put in by them to bring the whole Indian scene to such extent that we stand here today ,ready to send one to Tampa . Whaaaat, I have said too much, I will shut up now. So yeah, that's just the first issue of the magazine, the next 11 issues are going to be a hell of ride.

 Holy Detour 2018. Spending time with Skateboarders across the country, listening to their stories and experiences and watching each one allowed me to witness the real essence of Skateboarding. I just want to bring the beautiful stories and the beauty of Skateboarding out for the world of skaters through this magazine.

-What do you see skateboarding in India as? Future of skateboarding how do you want to craft it?
Skateboarding in India is a beautiful combination of all types of crews and gangs that one can ask for, each city with its own style and individuality is just so amazing. My favourite is just watching them skate together, without any competition, without any barrier of language or gender or religion or anything as such, just like how Skateboarding is supposed to be. It's kind of perfect. If I could craft it, I wouldn’t, I believe in wabi sabi, there's beauty in every part of Skateboarding in India, we just need an eye to see it.

- How the magazine is going to reach people? Monthly /6 monthly? Subscription options??.
