This year we had a mega event 'Skatelifegoa Open' at our hometown in Goa on 8th April 2023. The Skatelifegoa crew had planned this particular event way back in 2019, but unfortunately due to covid the plan could not be executed. Finally we got a window to pull this event off in style!
So SLG Open is a mix of culture, spot contests, communal gatherings, positive vibes etc etc In short it's one of a kind event which you don't want to miss out on :). It will be an annual event which will happen every year during the summer's in Goa hosted by the Skatelifegoa crew.
This years SLG open kicked off with a free beginner workshop at 3pm on 8th of April. Beginners of various age group participated in the same. Detys skate group from USA had come down for the event who got a lot of skateboards and decks to support the skatelifegoa community. So to make the beginners workshop more fun there was a contest: Anyone who drops in, from the beginner workshop students will get a free complete skateboard!. To our surprize we had 3-4 skaters who dropped in on their very first day. Samit Chauhan hailing from Uttar Pradesh was the first one to nail the drop in on his first day.
Later in the evening we had the last man standing contests for all age groups. Then there was a highest ollie and longest grind competition. Both contest were won by Andy Topo, our local homie from Goa. Then we had a raffle, the prize was a full complete skateboard!. The raffle was won by Chirag K. Then we had a rap performance by the 27main street crew hailing from Pune. Anddd! finally the contest which all were waiting for, Cash for tricks!. This years cash for tricks was conducted on the mini ramp built by Skateable spaces accompanied by fire session on the same :)
Day ended with an after party celebration at Cremuex Cafe and Bistro. It started with a cake cutting, cake was specially made for the Skatelifegoa crew by Cremeux. It was great to see the full crew hanging out together after a very long time. For all those who made it for this event will know how this event turned out :), one of the best skate events we have ever witnessed. Welcome back everybody to our annual highlights blog of the yearly event Skatelifegoa Open. This years SLG Open took place on 5th of April 2025, which was a bright sunny Saturday! It was hosted at the Youth Hostel Skatepark, Miramar, Goa. The event started with skate lessons at around 4.45pm, which was open to all age groups. The Best tricks contests started at 5.30pm.
